12-14 inch pot or ground - 1 plant per pot (gets to 135cm). Will need a stake
Transplant Mix: 4 cups soil/cocopeat + 4 cups vermicompost + 1 cup bone meal or wood ash
That's a 1 : 1 : 0.25 ratio. Mix well, fill pot, water, then transplant.

Watering: Keep soil moist - never let it fully dry out, especially in summer. Water in the MORNING, never late evening.

Flowers in about 10-12 weeks from sowing.

Branches freely - expect many flowers per plant, not just one big head
Don’t let soil dry out in peak heat - leaf scorch is real
Successive sowing = flowers all season long
Remember

Never let the soil dry out. Sunflowers are thirsty. Morning water, every day in peak summer.

About this seed

Sunflower Valentine is a heavily branched variety producing an abundance of bright lemon-yellow flowers up to 15 cm across. Unlike single-stem sunflowers, Valentine branches freely for excellent yields - making it one of the best sunflowers for cut flower production. The cheerful blooms are a magnet for bees and other pollinators. At 135 cm tall, it's substantial enough to make an impact in the garden while being manageable to stake and harvest. Valentine is very early flowering and performs reliably even in variable weather.
