Transplant Mix: 4 cups soil/cocopeat + 4 cups vermicompost + 1 cup bone meal or wood ash

Watering: Water only when the soil is bone dry. This plant runs on neglect. Overwatering is the #1 killer.

About this seed

Portulaca Happy Hour Tropical Mixture produces tidy, mounded plants covered in large, vivid double blooms in shades of deep red, orange, and banana yellow. Unlike sprawling prostrate types, Happy Hour stays compact and well-branched, making it perfect for pots, borders, and hanging baskets. This variety has a shorter photoperiod requirement (10.5 hours) so it can be sown earlier than competitors. Once established, portulaca is one of the most drought-tolerant flowers you can grow - it thrives in hot, dry conditions where other flowers struggle.
